CSci 395.86 Open Source Software Development (formerly CS_OSSD)

This course exposes the student to the principles and practices of free and open source software (FOSS) development. Its primary objective is to prepare students so that they can become active participants in open source software projects. The student is introduced to the historical context of FOSS, to the technology and tools that facilitate it, to the culture of open source communities, and to business models and intellectual property rights.
